Eddie Izzard to perform in Budapest

Eddie Izzard in Budapest

A few months after Louis C.K.'s highly successful performance in Budapest, we are bringing yet another comedy icon to the Hungarian capital.

Eddie Izzard will perform his Force Majeure show live in Budapest at the Congress Centre on the 27th of March, 2017.

After Louie's show we were very keen on continuing bringing stand-up comedy to Hungary, but we were hesitant about whom could be the perfect follow-up. Eddie Izzard is a one-of-a-kind, brilliant performer, and we are confident Hungarian audiences will definitely not be disappointed.

The first-ever American stand-up comedy show in Hungary

Louis C.K.

Boddah was proud to present Louis C.K. to the Hungarian audiences, as the popular American stand-up comedian took the stage on August 27th at the Budapest Congress Centre.

It has been a show 3 and a half years in the making as we first reached out to Louie's management in 2013 and it finally became a reality when we were able to announce it just two weeks prior to the show. Nonetheless all 2000 tickets were sold within 24 hours. Louis C.K.'s performance marks the first time an American stand-up comedian took the stage in Hungary.

Songs of the Land receives funding from Creative Europe

Songs of the Land

Our music documentary series ‘Songs of the Land’ received funding from the Creative Europe. The series, which is being directed by Péter Akar and Bálint Szimler, explores the hidden folk music treasures in regions like Eastern Ukraine, Belarus or Russia.

The Creative Europe funding of 25,000 EUR is for development, and we spend part of the money on finalizing our pilot in Eastern Ukraine in September.

Produced by Rita Balogh and Gábor Osváth, the series is hosted by acclaimed Hungarian musician Miklós Both.
