Mr. Mare' Goes to Berlinale!

mr mare

Our latest short animation Mr. Mare (Lidérc úr) will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February! Luca Tóth new film is a surreal animated chamber play, set in a ‘haunted’ claustrophobic space, in which we witness the dynamics of unrequited love as we follow the relationship of an oddly codependent pair.

The film was entirely made at our very own Boddanim Studio in Budapest.

This is our second film at Berlinale, following Réka Bucsi's 'LOVE' (2016).

Bill Burr Rocks Budapest

Bill Burr

Bill Burr is one of the top comedic voices of his generation, and we were extremely lucky to welcome him in Budapest on January 9th, Budapest. Needless to say, it was a sold-out show at the Budapest Congress Center!

The following day Bill even mentioned in his podcast that Budapest has been his favorite city during his European tour, and that he even considered filming a special here!

Anthony Jeselnik Live in Budapest

Anthony Jeselnik

With two successfull show's behind our back, we are proud to present yet another U.S. comedian, the "Prince of dark comedy" Anthony Jeselnik.

Anthony Jeselnik is probably best known in Hungary for his performances in Comedy Central Roasts (including the bits on Donald Trump and Charlie Sheen). He also has his memorable and critically acclaimed show ‘Thoughts and Prayers’ available on Netflix - FUNNY GAMES is Jeselnik’s first new show since.

‘The Fall of Rome’ Premieres in Budapest

The Fall of Rome

Our third animation is finished and recently had its world premiere at the Friss Hús Budapest Short Film Festival! ‘The Fall of Rome’ is a 23-minute post-apocalyptic animated fantasmagorie, and we are very proud of it.

Written, designed and directed by Balázs Turai, the short animation was co-produced with Croatia’s Adriatic Animation. From Boddah’s part, the producers were Péter  Benjámin Lukács and Gábor Osváth.

Réka Wins at Berlinale!

Solar Walk

Réka Bucsi’s new animation was selected for the 68th Berlin International Film Festival. The Danish-produced ‘Solar Walk’, a 21-minute animation ended up winning the international short film jury’s Audi Short Film Award.

Produced by Viborg’s Animation Workshop, this is a shorter version of a 50-minute film which was made for the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.

‘Solar Walk’ was Réka’s third time in competition at Berlinale Shorts after 2014’s ‘Symphony no. 42’ and 2016’s ‘LOVE’.

Assassination Nation Scores in Sundance

Assasination nation

Our very own Marcell Rév’s first American feature as a cinematographer debuted in Sundance to exciting reviews and a big sale.

’Assassination Nation’, directed by Sam Levinson was screened in the Midnight section, and it ended up scoring the biggest deal of this year’s Sundance as its global rights were sold to Neon and AGBO for $10 million.

Marcell most recently worked on the HBO telefilm ‘Paterno’, starring Al Pacino and directed by Barry Levinson.

Eddie Izzard to perform in Budapest

Eddie Izzard

A few months after Louis C.K.'s highly successful performance in Budapest, we are bringing yet another comedy icon to the Hungarian capital.

Eddie Izzard will perform his Force Majeure show live in Budapest at the Congress Centre on the 27th of March, 2017.

After Louie's show we were very keen on continuing bringing stand-up comedy to Hungary, but we were hesitant about whom could be the perfect follow-up. Eddie Izzard is a one-of-a-kind, brilliant performer, and we are confident Hungarian audiences will definitely not be disappointed.

The first-ever American stand-up comedy show in Hungary

Louis C.K.

Boddah was proud to present Louis C.K. to the Hungarian audiences, as the popular American stand-up comedian took the stage on August 27th at the Budapest Congress Centre.

It has been a show 3 and a half years in the making as we first reached out to Louie's management in 2013 and it finally became a reality when we were able to announce it just two weeks prior to the show. Nonetheless all 2000 tickets were sold within 24 hours. Louis C.K.'s performance marks the first time an American stand-up comedian took the stage in Hungary.
