About Us

Boddah is a film production company and creative hub based in Budapest, Hungary.

Founded by director Bálint Szimler, cinematographer Marcell Rév, and producer Gábor Osváth, Boddah's journey began with Balaton Method, a feature-length music documentary. Over the years, Boddah has worked on plenty of successful projects, mainly animated shorts with amazing animators like Réka Bucsi, Luca Tóth, and more. One of the recent highlights is 27 by Flóra Anna Buda, which won the Short Film Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival and the main prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival—just a year after Balázs Turai’s Amok won at Annecy too. To support these collaborations, Boddah set up an animation studio called Boddanim.

The company has also produced a wide range of music videos and short films.

In recent years, Boddah has expanded its scope to include stand-up comedy promotion. They have hosted major comedy events in Budapest featuring world-renowned performers such as Bill Burr, John Cleese, Louis CK, Tom Segura, Jim Jefferies, Eddie Izzard, Iliza Shlesinger, Daniel Sloss, and many others.

Boddanim

Animation studio

Hungarian animation is once again internationally recognized due to a stream of talented artists coming out from MOME animation in the past years. As their options are very limited in the Hungarian film funding system, Boddah is determined to help produce as many films as we can. We developed this animation studio only for these artists to enable them to work freely on their own projects and help each other.

We continue to work with internationally acclaimed animation directors such as Réka Bucsi, Luca Tóth, Balázs Turai, Flóra Buda and we are always open for new talents who need a place.
